Giorgio Armani modernises the Mary Jane

NO ONE should have to sacrifice style for comfort; thankfully, one doesn’t have to with Giorgio Armani’s new menswear Mary Janes.

“Mr Armani explores the idea of clothing and accessories that frees instead of constructing, carefree thoughts instead of carelessness and of classic as proof of progress. As menswear evolves, its traditions are being challenged,” writes Giorgio Armani.

While historically, Mary Janes have been a style worn by women and children – Armani is pushing the boundary and bringing the beloved shoe over to menswear. Mary Janes are for everybody.

Initially designed in the early 20th century and worn by children on formal occasions, the Mary Jane has become a staple due to its comfortability. Giorgio Armani modernises the Mary Jane using suede and chunkier proportions.
