Givenchy Unveils The Sliced Square Ballet Flat


A NEW contemporary flat shoe has been released by Givenchy for the Autumn season.

The Sliced Square ballet flat is inspired by Sarah Burton’s fall-winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which took place last March. The collection was her first for Givenchy, after becoming Creative Director in 2024. The design is drawn the brand’s archive from the 50s where long feminine silhouettes were sliced to a micro length, revealing the body and bringing a sense of modernity to the style. 

With the ballerina, the front of the shoe is sliced to recreate this silhouette. It breathes a sense of edge to the shoe, which is usually soft and flexible.

The most eye-catching feature of this shoe is the thick branding across the middle. Providing support and comfort for the wearer, the large label on the band, acts as an eye-catching and statement adornment.

The flat comes in a range of colours. A bright red, seeming to be matched to the perfect lipstick for a bold cut of colour. Or classic patent black for a more every-day staple shoe. The classic pale blush draws from the classic look of a ballerina, and the gold mirror leather acts as bold contrast between these shades.
