Transforming teatime into an immersive experience, The Franklin London — Starhotels Collezione has just unveiled a new afternoon tea offering: The Wicked Wizard of The Franklin.

As guests journey through each course, they will notice that the entire experience is thoughtfully infused with key imagery from the musical and primary plot line. For instance, as guests settle into The Franklin’s cozy seating area, a life-size figure of the Scarecrow appears by the window, while references to other prominent characters emerge through various forms of sculptural decoration.

While soaking up the enchanting interiors, guests can enjoy orange and hibiscus tea, which pairs beautifully with the No Place Like Home finger sandwiches. Featuring chargrilled chicken, gem lettuce, and a rich sweet corn dressing, the finger sandwiches are a suitably light entrée for what is to follow.
Additionally, the Over The Rainbow tomato sandwiches offer vibrant flavours with an avocado and roasted vegetable filling. Finally, the Yellow Brick Road brings the arrival of homemade pan-brioche buns adorned with eggs and fresh winter black truffle seasoning.
For the sweet treats, The Franklin has drawn inspiration from the pivotal characters of the Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow to craft each dessert. A tangy lemon meringue tart evokes the flair and tenacity of the Lion. Meanwhile, a fluffy tiramisu arrives in a metal case that subtly pays homage to the Tin Man through intricate detailing. Finally, the Scarecrow comes to life in the form of a gooseberry-adorned chocolate mousse ice cream.
