Glass escapes the city at Hotel AMANO Covent Garden

SITUATED in the heart of lively Covent Garden is the new AMANO London Hotel, where I find myself taking up residence for the night. Immediately after entering the lobby, the bustling energy of the streets has been left behind me, and I have become engulfed in an oasis of chic serenity which is continued throughout my stay.

Soon after my arrival, I stand in the midst of my Goldy room, the sultry grey and black colour palette making for a perfect escape from the flashing lights and neon signs of the west end and theatre-land. Accented very aptly with gold details, including a golden roll-top bath overlooking the city, the understated decor is an effortless excursion into luxury.

At the heart of one of the world’s most vibrant cities, restaurant options are in abundance. AMANO, however have securely joined the roster of must-visit dining locations in the capital following the opening of Penelope’s, where I soon find myself seated for a night of pure indulgence.

Marrying Israeli and Spanish cuisine, Penelope’s takes the best bits of fine dining and dinner parties yet makes them more fun. The food and drink selection, imagined by Chef Fez Ozalgan, is as vibrant and diverse as one could imagine the fusion of the two selected cuisines to be, and though the meal itself could secure a secondary visit, the atmosphere of the restaurant was a true highlight.

With DJs playing every Friday and Saturday, and AMANO’s famous Isramani parties taking place monthly, Penelope’s is not just a restaurant but an experience, one that should be enjoyed by locals and visitors a like.

From the lively surrounding of the in-house restaurant to the comforting boundaries of my double room, the experience at AMANO is one which masterfully champions both serenity and energy, taking metropolitan luxury and giving it a personal twist that can be felt in all of their residences worldwide.
