Guest In Residence debuts SS25 collection – a nostalgic tribute to LA’s roller skating culture

INSPIRED by LA’s roller-skating culture of the 70s and 80s, Gigi Hadid’s knitwear brand, Guest In Residence brings retro vibes into the spring/summer season.

“This collection is one of our most vibrant to date,” says Gigi Hadid. “We were majorly inspired by the roller-skating culture of Los Angeles in the late ‘70s to early ‘80s — not only its aesthetic but also its carefree energy and inclusive values. We were particularly drawn to its unabashedly joyful spirit, which Guest In Residence strives to embody as well, mixing youthful energy with the bold, expressive style of American sportswear.”

The collection is all about effortless versatility, offering luxurious 100% cashmere staples that are made for layering and laid-back comfort, from the heavier-weight Cozy Crew to the vibrant Collegiate Stripe Polo and the retro Track Polo, each piece is designed for an easy-breezy style.

The Picnic Plaid Shirt and matching Picnic Plaid Shorts add a playful two-piece with their windowpane checks, while the stripe socks double down on the vintage appeal.

As the season heats up, pieces like the Fine Stripe Tank Dress, Track Polo, and Cardigan Colourblock channel even more of that nostalgic spirit, and the high-cut Racer Shorts pair perfectly with matching polos and track jackets, and colours like cherry red and navy feel both classic and contemporary.

Lightweight layers, cue the silk-linen long shirt-dress and V-neck sweaters keep things easy, while bold gingham patterns on the Shrunken Polo and Flare Pants pay tribute to the freedom and joy that goes hand in hand with LA’s skate scene.
