Tod’s and Palm Angels collaborate on Tod’s Tabs Sneaker

PALM ANGELS and Tod’s have announced their recent collaboration, the reinterpretation of the classic Tod’s Tabs sneaker.

The Milanese Palm Angels are known for their reimaginations of classic styles, reconceptualising them into more daring and bold designs. For the autumn-winter 2023 season, the brand collaborated with Tod’s on the Tod’s Tabs sneaker, where the two reinvented the sporty shoe into a more contemporary design.

Tod’s values sophistication and quality at the crux of all they do, a characteristic distinguishable throughout their outputs. The collaboration between the two Italian powerhouses materialised in redefining the sneaker by demonstrating characteristics of originality and lightness. With tapered lines, a 70s-inspired tongue and a modern toe cap, the sneaker features a new take on the original structure.

The back of the shoe and its tongue feature a Palm Angels logo, attractive in gold lurex, while Tod’s logo embellishes the rear alongside the lace loop.

The distinguishing attribute of the collaboration is the leather palm tree decoration, which extends across the sides of the upper and reminisces on the West Coast free spirit inherent to Palm Angels. The final feature is Tod’s gommino, a detail often used for functional purposes which has been transformed into a decorative addition and is seen at the back of the shoe, nodding at the brand’s heritage, individuality and the Italian lifestyle.

Palm Angels and Tod’s collaboration unites the essence of modernity with heritage in redefining the Tod’s Tabs sneaker to fit the present day while simultaneously demonstrating timelessness.
