JIL SANDER has expanded its Olfactory Series 1 collection with six new fragrances, building on the perfume line that first hit the market last year. The new additions continue the house’s stripped-back approach, with each scent made from three natural ingredients, aldehydes, alcohol and water, putting the emphasis on the quality of its ingredients.

The six new fragrances are named Shiso, Salt, Lily, Sesame, Mahogany and Vanille, with each centring on a single ingredient or impression, from the green freshness of shiso and the mineral quality of salt to white florals, toasted sesame, rich woods and a darker take on vanilla.
Like the original collection, the fragrances use aldehydes to bring brightness and structure to each composition, alongside several upcycled ingredients and alcohol produced in part from captured carbon emissions.
The bottles, created with design studio Formafantasma, follow the same thinking, with their slightly uneven forms and subtle variations, which mean no two are exactly the same and channel the brand’s interest in design and form.
