Lanvin collaborates with Future for its first Lanvin Lab collection

LANVIN unveiled its first-ever Lanvin Lab collection made in collaboration with Atlanta-born musician and producer Future. Lanvin Lab is the brand’s new design arm that is centred around collaborations and partnerships with fellow artists and designers.

Lanvin and Future both care deeply for community, family and fostering strong connections, however, the similarities do not stop there.

In fact, Jeanne Lanvin’s daughter Marguerite was an accomplished musician. As a result, it’s clear that the collaboration with Future stems from the house’s affinity for musical trailblazers.

Speaking on the collaboration, Future said: “I created a vibe with this collection, something you can feel when you wear it…Jeanne Lanvin drew inspiration from her life and lifestyle. We are the same in that way, we create from experience.”

Future for Lanvin

The new collection – titled Pluto after Future’s moniker – focuses on themes of regeneration, transformation and metamorphosis. By alluding to our solar system’s ninth planet, the collection promises to offer unique unisex pieces that emphasise the importance of layering and tailoring.

The collection also exhibits two particularly powerful motifs – the eagle and the star. In reference to the collection’s interstellar inspiration, the star represents protection and empowerment. Meanwhile, the eagle evokes ideas of courage, majesty and truth.

For the capsule’s campaign, Future is seen posing alongside model Amelia Gray in the exquisite pieces – including a leather jacket with constellation patterns formed from metallic stud detailing. The first drop of the Lanvin Lab x Future collection is available to view online later today in celebration of the rapper’s birthday.
