LFW AW14: Amanda Wakeley


Amanda Wakeley returned to the schedule this season and hosted her show in her brand new Albemarle Street boutique. Delving into the rich history of traditional Japan, Wakeley drew inspiration from Samurai warriors combined with the subversive spirit of the country’s Geisha women. There was something of a fighting spirit and fearlessness in this collection juxtaposed with quiet confidence.

The colours were dark with barely no colours, strong silhouettes, cinched in waists and smart long black coats teamed with leather trousers formed a classic and grown up look. A strong collection with pieces like subversive body armour finished with simple, low ponytails and statement eyebrows.
