LFW AW14: Eudon Choi

After his Spring/Summer 2014 collection plebiscite, the atmosphere at Eudon Choi was full of anticipation, helped by the soundtrack of screaming fans. The show’s title, Hysteria, was most appropriate. Black and white projections of crazed Beatles fans were screened while the Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction played during the first look featuring printed mellow knitwear and ponyskin loafers.

The second look of the stripped long suit jackets and matching joggers gave a sense of Choi’s tailoring background. This Autumn/Winter offering soon revealed checked capes-style jackets, military coats, wide hood anoraks, voluminous furs and the inevitable varsity jacket presented this season in a navy checked version paired with ankle length Klein-blue sharp trousers.

Moments of red and orange interupted the navy, olive and grey neutral palette. Have you seen those back-collars flashy details? Aren’t you in love with the suede tasseled ankle boots already?

The shows ends in white – with its edgy simplicity – allowing our eyes to appreciate the perfect cuts, clear pleats and abstract well-played inserts. The last look – a plain jumpsuit craved by a fluid white front panel and featuring masculine femininity.

Enough said, Eudon Choi has nothing left to prove.
