LFW AW18: Pam Hogg

TAKING inspiration from the ‘80s, as always, Dr Pam Hogg’s AW18 collection was a vivid insight into all things bold, bright, and wonderful. Neons, pastels, and monochrome could all be used to describe the collection. Textiles range was also stark and varied from PVC  to tulle to jersey. Tartan coats met gold fringing, PVC trench coats met tulle details, and sequins met metallic lycra.

The self-taught fashion mogul has worked in design, music, and styling in the last few years but her return to fashion in 2009 has secured herself a fashion empire in the industry. With the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kylie, and Kate Moss sporting her pieces Pam Hogg is gradually becoming a household name. The AW18 collection further carved out a niche market for herself in her unique celebration of avante garde. Dedicated to the stylist Judy Blame, who died this Tuesday, this AW18 collection radiated punk-pop DIY.

The make-up of models had a queen of hearts, Marie Antoinette feel to it and the accessories used enhanced a military style costume, both details added to the playful and experimental side of the design house. Stand out pieces were the pink and green trench coats and the pearl embroidery on the leather jackets. Last season’s sheer catsuits were seen throughout the show but with alternative detailing to before, instead of modesty plasters being made of patent material this season they were fluffy balls.
