LFW AW19: Ashley Williams

EVERY season Ashley Williams designs the uniform for London’s “cool” girl – but this season, the trendy, grunge attire took a magical injection with pops of colour, elegant gowns and another splash of comedy, this time with a pattern that depicts sperm. Inspired by the male genitalia, with a history of worshipping this part of a man that dates back to the time of the Norse Gods, Greek mythology and ancient Rome, the designer used this pattern to form fuzzy fleeces and debutante ball gowns.

An eccentric combination of sequins, kilts, tracksuits and faux fur helped make up this ‘it’ girl collection. The phrase ‘power nap’ was graffitied onto matching grey sweat-pant looks which was accessorised with a feminine touch of a bow, whilst pink mohair skirt suits with witchy black cat patterns stuttered down the runway signifying an autumnal vibe.

An addition to this season’s collection is a collaboration with luxury shoe designer Jimmy Choo. This shoe collection reaches both side of the spectrum, from ultra feminine stilettos to flats that are adorned with bows and buckles, or even those who prefer their shoes in tie dye fabric. Williams’ now famous diamanté hair clips are back for another season, but this time with phrases like ‘world’, ‘delete’, toxic’, ‘cult’ and ‘books’ to ensure even your hair is making a statement. Ashley Williams never fails to prove that your clothes should do the talking.
