LFW SS22: Kiko Kostadinov

KIKO Kostadinov gave LFW SS22 a lesson in layering and futuristic footwear.  When designing the collection, the designer and sister duo behind the brand – Laura and Deanna Fanning, were inspired by childhood summers in Australia and the books they would read on the beach like Kathy Lett’s coming-of-age novel: Puberty Blues.

Trousers with an overlay skirt and orange brogue/sneaker hybrids – the collection reimagined well-loved staples innovatively and playfully. There was no shortage of textures and patterns in the 28-look collection.

An eclectic variety of garments ranging from straight-leg denim trousers sporting fruit-themed embroidery detail to a lavender and grey pencil suit set kept fashion week spectators on their toes.

A bright colour palette of indigos, lime green, beige, sunset orange and lavender cohesively pulled the collection together.

The versatility of the Central Saint Martins graduate designers continue to impress and inspire – the SS22 collection is no exception.

The Australian designer pair further establishes themselves as a brand to watch. A collection inspired by sunny days in Australia seems perfectly apt given how bright their future looks.
