LFW SS22: Nensi Dojaka

TEN-DAYS after it was announced that London-based designer Nensi Dojaka had been awarded the prestigious LVMH Prize she opened her first solo show on the London Fashion Week SS22 schedule.

A masterclass in dressing the female body that blends fun and frivolity with scrupulous attention to detail, this season the Albanian-born designer’s collection was a continuation of the craft she has honed over the past few years.

Her idiosyncratic barely-there mini dresses and separates were given a new grown-up relevance when paired with tailored suiting. Underwear as the new outerwear is old hat, but Dojaka’s SS22 hosiery makes being scantily clad the season’s focus. Astonishingly intricate and overtly sexy, Dojaka’s work speaks volumes in craft as it does in desirability.

Since her stint with Fashion East after graduating from MA fashion at Central Saint Martins, Dojaka has made waves with her designs, offering the answer to dressing up now we are finally permitted to go out out. Recently befriending A-listers Dua Lipa and Rita Ora (who also share Albanian roots) Dojaka’s LVMH accolade is a well-deserved certification of her influence on contemporary womenswear.
