LFWM SS19: A Cold Wall

DAY three of the London SS19 Menswear collections and the super cool streetwear loving fashion crowd are raring to go and fully equipped with branded fume masks and clear on trend visor wraparound protective eyewear. We could be about to witness a pyrotechnic show of dangerous inclination but instead what unfolds is an energetic display of incredible performance art merged with A Cold Wall’s boundary-pushing streetwear collection.

A Cold Wall’s show is all about architecture, structure and design. The brand’s name is derived from the basic touch of a cold surface as a common social denominator – whether a marble colonnade or the concrete wall of a council estate even though worlds apart in theme they are brought together in sensation.

The presentation saw human forms teased, intimidating and stirring the audience carrying and presenting the designers clothing within mesmerising structured frames and boxes. Most of the perfectly crafted pieces where asymmetric in form with pops of flesh and vinyl PVC panels peaking from under models shoulders and back panels.

There is a theme of deconstruction running through all of the garments from the debossed eyelets on concise outerwear to the contrast seam stitching running through knitwear and heavyweight zip pulls engraved with the brands signature graphics.

The accessories are also worth talking about. Super cool Toolbox shaped briefcases in cobalt blues, curved shaped leather goods and vinyl clutch bags.

The atmosphere, performance art and the fresh feeling of the collection drive A Cold Wall towards a new direction. Towards the footsteps of the big players in the Menswear industry.
