Liu Wen stars alongside the Bamboo 1947 in new Gucci Campaign

IMMORTALISED with one of the world’s most noticeable accessories, Supermodel Liu Wen becomes the face of the latest Gucci Bamboo 1947 campaign, shot and directed by photographer David Sims.

Named after its definitive curved bamboo handle, the Gucci Bamboo has become an emblematic piece of pop culture, associated with the likes of Princess Diana and Elizabeth Taylor, and more recently Beyoncé and Harry Styles.

Now, the bag is shown in a far more intimate setting alongside the captivating Liu Wen, in a campaign that perfectly encapsulates the dual minimalist-maximalist sultriness that has been evoked in the house’s recent collections following the departure of former creative director, Alessandro Michele, last year.

A series of striking images along with a short film emote a sense of secrecy kept between Wen and her bag, portraying a sort of endearing closeness many of share with our beloved accessories.
