THE NEW Loewe Paula’s Ibiza collection pays tribute to the unique mindset of a craved summer spirit, specifically seeking a home in the music and culture of such a veritable epicentre. Championing the island’s laidback lifestyle allows for an incredibly wearable series that is perfect for the upcoming warmer months.
The original Paula’s Ibiza boutique was a meeting point for all creatives and musicians who over the years have made this beautiful island their home. Their crafts have sent waves across the globe and in doing so have brought light to this wonderful place.
Inspired by hours spent under the hot rays, whether that be on a beach, boat or pool, permeates this collection and triggers a joyful vibe to the garments. The care-free influence creates a versatile style, empowered by weaving, braiding and textures to align with Loewe’s sense of craft. We also see polo shirts, skirts and dresses made in crochet, with some of them featuring leaf patches, encouraged by real alocasia leaves that are transformed into tops.
Neutral colour palettes are seamlessly contrasted with vibrant prints, which creates a sheer appreciation for tonal accents, and a Loewe Anagram becomes a recurring motif, even on denim fabrics. This same denim is then carried further into polos, Bermuda shorts, and micro shorts, transforming such a rigid material into escapism for freedom and ease.
Woven raffia and Iraca palm are the central figures of the accessories, with the Iraca baskets and launch of the Loewe Font Tote, available in a trio of sizes. For every bag sold, Loewe will donate 15 euros to the local communities who have handcrafted them. The donation will fund towards a university scholarship program in Colombia and house a craft training school in Madagascar.
With the accompanying visuals, shot by Gray Sorrenti, captures a celebration of island life, focusing on the creative community in Ibiza and Colombia. The gallery features international talents such as Alewya, Bad Gyal, Mason Hyce Barnes, Guitarricadelafuente, Emily Ratajkowski, Devin Halbal and Karol G, each shown to be simply having fun in sun-drenched moments.
