BOSS definitely knows how to captivate an auditorium, transforming its runway into a lilac-hued dreamscape. Despite the turbulence caused by the coronavirus outbreak, BOSS’s clan of models marched on to a live orchestra at the Social Music City space – a fitting setting to showcase such a dynamic collection. Performing a piece entitled Down to Earth by composer Henry Scars Struck, the orchestra lifted the spirits of spectators, who were immediately transported to a colourful, poetic realm. And much like the music, the clothing line was breathtakingly beautiful.
BOSS has long mastered the art of tailoring, but the AW20 collection manifests a significant sartorial shift. Entitled Generations, the collection harmoniously blends traditional tailoring with a modern – and perhaps more wearable – aesthetic. From smart overcoats to structured suits, the collection oozes masculinity, with a rolling river of rich brown and rust red materialising on the runway. Femininity, however, comes in the form of delicate materials and pops of lilac, which instantly add a touch of grace and elegance to the collection. Looks were occasionally finished off with bright orange accessories, which will undoubtedly appeal to the androgynous trend.
And the verdict? With graceful clothes and gentle tailoring, Ingo Wilts’s artistic vision provides highly elevated city-wear for both men and women in an array of colours and fabrics. How could we possibly not sing his praises?
