DOLCE & GABBANA showcased their “Queen of Hearts” collection for their not-so-secret, secret show in Milan. This is the year of the millennials so it made sense for the models to walk were millennials such as Hailey Baldwin and Sara Sampaio and millennials such as Cameron Dallas and Anais Gallagher sitting front row.
Like Versace and Missoni, D&G looked back at their old collections with black, sheer, lingerie-style dress, tailored suits, extremely extravagant garment and embellished headpieces.
Following the Queen of Hearts theme, the playing card motif was seen throughout the collection. The card was also interpreted in an oriental Chinese painting-style print on a heavily sequined loose shirt and leggings. With red, white and mint green being the prominent colours of the garment, it allowed for the intricate detail to stand out more. Similarly, there was a traditional Queen playing-card style garment in the form of a pencil skirt and a fitted matching top.
Lavish crowns, statement earrings and necklaces, flower and fruit prints and vintage-style silhouettes were mixed with the brand’s Italian heritage to create a very vivid show.
