Miu Miu collaborates with New Balance for an adaptation of the 1980s classic 574 trainer

FOR SS22, Miu Miu announced their collaboration with New Balance for their reimagined version of the 1980s 574 sneaker.

Miuccia Prada has put her mark on the historic style with raw-cut edges and is offering it in shades echoed throughout this season’s runway collection: white, khaki and blue. The model is made in Italy and co-branded on the tongue with both Miu Miu and New Balance’s recognisable logos.

The shoe itself was first debuted on the Miu Miu runway, during Paris Fashion Week back in October. Which saw the new athletic shoe paired with baggy suits, bumpster midi-skirts and super-cropped matching jackets.

The collaboration’s campaign was shot by Tyrone Lebon, which features both still and moving image. The result aims to reflect reality, showing the cast in a series of triptych photographic collages and lo-fi film. A range of individuals were invited to model, such as singer-songwriter Liv.e and actor Mame Bineta Sane, celebrating the identity of what it means to be a Miu Miu girl.

The Miu Miu x New Balance sneaker are now available from Miu Miu stores worldwide and online.
