Off-White supports Bid for the Louvre

IN SUPPORT of Bid for the Louvre, Off-White has designed a custom classic 2.8 Jitney handbag to be auctioned off at Christie’s auction house. Created with the notion of going beyond fashion, but into the realm of art, this collector’s item comes with an invite to one of the upcoming runway shows in Paris. Inspired by the famous Louvre Pyramid, the bag hopes to honour the structure through its design.

Off-White Bid for the Louvre Bag

Off-White is contributing alongside an array of luxury fashion houses, contemporary artists and the Hôtel Drouot to support this initiative by the Parisian museum. This unprecedented online auction is to raise funds to create a new space dedicated to artistic and cultural learning – set to open in the Autumn of 2021.

Close Up of Off-White Bid for the Louvre Bag

The bag itself represents both the City of Light and the Louvre’s glass pyramid, executed with silver Italian calfskin leather and hand-made silver rectangular sequins – this bag cannot be replicated nor found anywhere else. The 3D-embossed leather effect plays tricks when light enters the material creating a glistening effect that echoes the glass structure of the museum.

Auction will be held on Christie’s website from 1-15 December 2020
