PFW AW23: Enfants Riches Déprimés

ENFANTS Riches Déprimés’ autumn-winter 2023 collection is an exploration of contrasts, fusing the rough and refined, softness and hardness, and gloom and glamour. With leather as the star of the show, Creative Director Henri Levy has brought forth an edgy, grungy, and subversive collection that’s perfect for the rebel at heart.

The collection features a range of silhouettes for both men and women, with nods to the brand’s signature darkness. Soviet-style tuxedo suits with military medals and military caps are infused with German gloom, creating a hybrid quality that perfectly captures the brand’s essence. Leather is used in red, black, and brown, showcasing the versatility of the material.

What sets this release apart is the subtle clash of contrasting fabrics, creating an unpolished elegance that underlines the brand’s rigorous emotional standard. Soft fabrics like velvet and silk are paired with hard leather, creating a sense of balance and sophistication.

The collection’s standout pieces include a leather trench coat with a faux fur collar, a red leather jumpsuit with a velvet bodice, and a black leather dress with a sheer tulle overlay. The collection also features leather boots with chunky heels and silver hardware, adding a touch of punk to the looks.

The showcase is a pure celebration of the brand’s unique style, seamlessly merging German gloom and Soviet undertones in a subversive and cohesive way.
