As Paris Fashion Week came to an end, Elie Saab seemed to take this opportunity to reflect on the sort of work that he has sent onto the runway the last few seasons. This collection still displayed the tremendous skill of designer with a hint of vibrance.
Saab is known for the intricately designed gowns and his ability with lace and other sheer fabrics continued to shine through in his SS16 collection.
But there was something slightly different about this collection. It was still the sophisticated beauty we’ve grown accustomed to but it felt more youthful, mostly through the introduction of bold stripes to meld with the black lace.
The collection personified summer with its short dresses, lace trousers, and other pieces that are more geared towards the warmer months. But there’s still a hint of the autumn winter colour scheme mixed in with lighter hues.
It’s still an Elie Saab original collection that captures the eye and causes your hand to go for your purse. He knows what a feminine, sophisticated woman desires and designs it beautifully.
