PFWM AW19: Hermès

SET in the Mobilier National, the space of the French Republic’s archive collection of furniture and decorations used to furnish and perfect ministries, embassies and chateaus, Hermès held their menswear Autumn-Winter 2019 collection. The French fashion house is known for its unrivaled luxury and being the home for the best artisans in the industry – this collection oozed elegance and authority. The show opened with a navy double breasted wool coat contrasted with matched coloured leather trousers to give the Hermès man an edge next season. The collection playfully mixed both smart and casual, allowing looks to be worn throughout the day and well into the night – a versatility that allows fashion to have an adventure.

The restricted colour palette of this collection allows for this pieces to be timeless rather than seasonal. Hinting at touches of white, brown and the classic Hermès orange, the collection remains dedicated to the season and brand once again ensuring that the Hermés man is understated.

A subtle dragon is weaved into the collection, a possible ode to the consumers in China. Accessorised on many looks were little silver dragons as well as being stitched into the corner of bags.
