PFWM SS19: Valentino

VALENTINO presented for its SS19 show a streetwear collection inspired by all the codes of urban culture – sneakers, logomania, camouflage clothes and even bucket hats. All the outfits are composed in the same colour tones such as blue, fuchsia, mint green, pink, black and white.

On jeans, joggings, shirts or trench-coats we find VLTN, as a logo and as lettering, that multiplies across  different surfaces. Magnified, cut out and duplicated. in the manner of Andy Warhol with Campbell’s Soup Cans or his other screenprints.

Valentino played the streetwear card thoroughly too deploying fabrics such as jean or jersey. The fabrics are used in large and oversize cuts that fall on trainers with feathers to bring a touch of lightness and opulence to massive shoes.

Valentino was inspired by the pieces that best represent the spirit of the streetwear, to which he affixed the four letters that define the brand – VLTN.
