LOCATED in the observatory at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the oldest shopping centres in Milan, Prada held its first solo cruise show. Underneath the shows setting the brands original store was opened back in 1913.
Bianca Jagger, Susan Sarandon and newly appointed Editor-in-Chief for British Vogue, Edward Enninful, were all sitting front row.
The cruise collection was the familiar femininity of Prada mixed with sportswear. The garments where adorned with sequin embellishments, fur and feathers, which channelled a native American headdress feel.
Knee-high socks, waterproof jackets, trainers were varied with see through, net slip dresses which have decorative sequins around the neck as well as discreetly placed around the models body. The oversized jackets featuring lilies and rabbits supplied by visual artist, James Jean, paired with the feminism dresses and skirts secured with a belt felt familiar to Prada’s 1995 spring RTW collection. The sheer skirts, jackets, belts and embellished dresses where revamped for this generation. Several nods where made to Prada’s past.
