Proenza Schouler evolves with its pre-spring 2024 collection

WITH a tribute to their muse, described as the “intelligent, adult, urban woman of today”. Stripped of unnecessary detail, Proenza Schouler’s pre-spring 2024 collection emphasises a testament to the fundamentals of fashion craftsmanship: cut, fit, and fabric.

This collection paints a picture of relaxed sophistication, exuding effortless elegance in the form of rich, grey wool mélange tailored suits, layered over breezy silk marocaine shirts. A symphony of textures arises with the introduction of matte viscose crepe dresses, brilliantly contrasted against sheen leather, and contemporary takes on classics like wool twill blazers, reimagined as generous outerwear pieces worn with matching panelled skirts that dance in step with the wearer.

Venturing creative ideas into utilitarian shapes, the collection showcases convertible bombers. Embellished with detachable shearling collars, these bombers not only redefine formality but offer a fresh approach to overcoats.

The collection’s radiant palette shines through machine-engineered knit columns in pure, vivid colours such as cobalt and red. This is matched with an array of leather pieces that include classic waistless jeans, wrap skirts, and a stunning off-shoulder dress in a light khaki.

The collection also pays homage to the mid-century American Dia artists, adding a touch of artistry with collaged chiffon dresses, hand-forged sequin swatches that possess a beautifully intelligent simplicity. All these pieces serve as the quintessential wardrobe staples designed to enhance the modern woman’s dynamic life.

Keeping the brand’s footwear profile grounded and reliable. Footwear maintains grounded and reliable, offering the return of the Bronco group’s sleek backless silhouette. The bags capture the essence of the brand while providing a fresh take on the classic PS1.

Lastly, with the debut of the Beacon Bag in new city size and the Ruched Tote in padded smooth nappa, the release reveals a multidimensional display of fashion evolution, once again, highlighting the evolvement of the brand’s codes, values, and traditions.
