The Goring Hotel unveils Coronation Afternoon Tea in honour of King Charles III

AS THE closest luxury hotel to Buckingham Palace, who better than The Goring, with its Royal Warrant for hospitality services, to host a special collection of activities in honour of King Charles’ Coronation later next month?

The Goring’s guild with King Charles stretches as far back as 1948 when their expert pastry chefs created a cake for Prince Charles’ Christening, and in 2008 the crowned heads of Europe enjoyed lunch at The Goring for Prince Charles’ Birthday.

On the platter for this memorable occasion, quite literally, is a Coronation Afternoon Tea served in the five-star ambience of the Veranda’s sun-trap, overseeing The Goring Garden and The Royal Border.  The delicious menu features King Charles’ beloved cakes and sandwiches, and a limited-edition Coronation strawberry and elderflower jam is served alongside some freshly-baked scones.

Also, on the agenda, is a Michelin-Starred Coronation Tasting Menu by Head Chef Graham Squire, which includes both A La Carte and a Six Course Tasting Menu comprised of Welsh specialities and foraged ingredients. The Coddled Clarence Court Egg with Fine Herb Garden Salad and Truffle Vinaigrette stand out on the plate, made as a take on one of His Majesty’s treasured dishes.
