Introducing the new Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee


ON JUNE 13th, the Italian-based brand Bottega Veneta announced the departure of Tomas Maier, its artistic director for 17 years. The successor will be the British Daniel Lee who will take office on July 1st.

At the age of 32, Daniel Lee has worked for Maison Margiela and Balenciaga, before being appointed to director of design for Celine ready-to-wear in 2012. Daniel Lee said, I’m both honoured and excited to continue the legacy that has been created at Bottega Veneta over the last five decades. Maintaining the ingrained codes of the House, craftsmanship, quality and sophistication, I look forward to evolving what has gone before, while contributing a new perspective and modernity.

His arrival at Bottega Veneta heralds a new era which, in the respect of the know-how, will reconcile the discreet luxury of the Venetian leather goods with the desires of the younger generations.
