Dior unveils the AW22 campaign

INSPIRED by the work of Mariella Bettineschi, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s admiration for the artist translated into the Dior women’s autumn-winter 2022 collection. Taking another opportunity to celebrate The Next Era, a series of portraits stretching from the sixteenth to nineteenth century became the starting point to the campaign.

Looking at how women have been conditioned throughout history, the models mirror similar poses to the women in the paintings embodying a thought-provoking duality as they are both curious and curated, strong and passionate.

Seen through the lens of Brigitte Niedermair, the collection’s balance of the classic Dior aesthetic with technology is captured focusing on the technicalities of certain pieces, such as the D-Air Lab’s take of the emblematic Bar jacket, and the savoir-faire of the reinterpreted adored accessories like the Lady Dior bags and the Dior Bobby.
