Burberry brings London to Shanghai

Last week’s opening of the Burberry flagship, Kerry Centre, Shanghai was an awe-inspiring celebration of the world of Burberry, bringing the creativity, heritage and spirit of the brand straight into the heart of China.

On the banks of the Huangpu River, the opening was celebrated by a global audience- with the 1,500 attendees including Jamie Campbell Bower, Chen Kun, Vicki Zhao, Guey Lun Mei, Xia Yu, Chen Ran, Dou Xiao, Huo Siyan, Angelababy and Carine Lau.  The event was an ode to the golden age of cinema, with the custom-built cinema venue creating an immersive space in which the Burberry worlds of British heritage, music and fashion whole-heartedly intertwined.

The evening included a presentation of the AW14 collection, accompanied by live music from George Ezra, Gary Powell, Ed Harcourt and Paloma Faith. And what better way to cement the Burberry ideal than with the otherwordly Cara Delevingne, flying above the audience in the most social-media-worthy finale.
