Breitling Celebrates the Aston Martin DB5

FRESH from a standout appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Aston Martin has unveiled its first watch in collaboration with Breitling. Taking its cues from the DB5, the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 also looks back to Thunderball, where Sean Connery wore a Breitling Top Time while driving Aston Martin‘s most famous grand tourer.

Design cues from the DB5 continue throughout the watch, from a wooden inner ring inspired by the steering wheel to hand-coloured leather straps and dashboard-style subdials. It’s offered in three limited editions: stainless steel (1,022 pieces), steel and platinum (315 pieces), and an 18-carat red gold model limited to 250 examples, the latter being finished with a natural onyx dial — the first time Breitling has used the stone.

Inside sits Breitling’s Manufacture Calibre 01, a COSC-certified chronograph movement with a 70-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback finished with an Aston Martin engraved rotor, naturally.
