COPENHAGEN, DENMARK — Here comes a thorny question: what do Copernicus and Danish fashion have in common? Very little on the surface, but viewed through the lens of Copenhagen Fashion Week, the buzzy biannual event nestled in the country’s capital, the connection becomes clearer. The event continues to champion some of the most exciting names from the Scandinavian region and far beyond.
The Prussian astronomer was a quiet changemaker. By turning conventional thinking on its head, he redefined our understanding of the solar system through his theory of heliocentrism. Similarly, Copenhagen Fashion Week has sought to spark a subtle creative revolution, championing designers who have consistently married clean silhouettes with rich conceptual meaning, thoughtful approaches and innovative fabrications.

There is something exquisitely scientific – in the modernist, creative sense of the term – about this region: its offerings strike a fine balance between technical precision and inventiveness, acquiring a quiet power in the process. Here, designers apply an array of techniques across multiple surfaces, often layering subtle hues and substantial textures over sheer fabrics in the unmistakable Scandi way. Their minimalist leanings can, at times, verge on the overly restrained, but their more body-conscious designs have the power to resonate with a sophisticated urban customer.
The Spring/ Summer 2027 season brings together a wealth of returning names, including By Malene Birger, Stine Goya, Mfpen and Marimekko, among others. This season’s lineup also introduces debuting brands such as Almada Label and Yours Truly by Peter Jensen.
As the first Swedish brand to join CPHFW’s NEWTALENT programme, Studio Constance joins the current cohort alongside Anne Sofie Madsen and Stem. The presence of leading Nordic names and globally established designers across the four-day programme of shows and presentations further reinforces Copenhagen Fashion Week’s position as one of the industry’s most influential fixtures.
The Spring 2027 edition will also see Institution – the recent winner of the Zalando Visionary Award 2026 and an LVMH Prize finalist – present its collection with support from Zalando as part of its ongoing commitment to spotlight emerging designers who challenge conventions, break the rules and drive progress across the fashion industry.

This season also marks the introduction of the International Guest Slot, supported by The Climate Pledge, which will host a show by Collina Strada, the idiosyncratic New York-based label founded by creative director Hillary Taymour.
What’s more, Renoon and Copenhagen Fashion Week have officially partnered to introduce an AI-powered screening system that complements the Sustainability Requirements framework. Powered by Renoon’s technology, the system has been developed specifically for CPHFW as a tailored application of the company’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform, built on years of assessing sustainability and operational documentation across a broad range of brand partnerships.
The collaboration outlines a three-year plan to roll out the AI-powered system across the fashion weeks and councils that have adopted the CPHFW Sustainability Requirements framework. As the framework expands internationally, Renoon’s technology will ensure that the same level of rigour is maintained across every implementation while enabling a more streamlined and less resource-intensive rollout for new partners.
