MFW AW15: Fendi

The show opens with a sea of white, simple winter basic. The clothing throughout uses a lot of stiff-looking fabrics, and structure. There are even panels which appear to be plastic built into some of the pieces that give the collection a bit of a futuristic vibe. However, the details such as large buttons and the neutral colour palette give the collection a vintage flair, a slightly odd mix but somehow it works.Fendi2

There is an abundance of oversized vest tops layered over long sleeve shirts that add a different shape and silhouette to some of the outfits. That’s one of the main themes that is being played with in Fendi’s latest collection – shapes that can be created using these stiff and plastic-like materials. It still feels like AW with its boxy-cut fuzzy coats, parka style jackets and dresses, and long skirts, but it’s something a little different to look at and that is a rare occurrence in the modern fashion world.
