LONDON-based, Shanghai-born fashion designer Judy Wu is set to work with the Zaha Hadid Gallery to present her Spring/Summer 2017 collection collaborating on an exhibition based around Wu’s latest collection, Curve.
The Zaha Hadid Gallery, which presents the late architect’s furniture and designs to the public, is a prominent supporter of up-and-coming talents in arts and fashion.
Wu’s SS17 Curve collection features ergonomic sculptural sweeps of material that curve around the female form in colour-cordinated blocks.
Inspired by neo-futurist architecture, Wu has chained regular curves with controlled forms to enrich the female figure. Translucent organza, sculptural neoprene and a twill jersey adds both texture to the body, it’s a collection that aims to empower women.
Making its debut during a presentation at On|Off during London Fashion Week, a creative platform showcasing new and established talent both “on” and “off” the official London Fashion Week schedule in Soho London where they also help designers build international businesses, the collection will now be be broken down and presented as exhibition pieces in gallery.
