PFW AW17: Maison Margiela


JOHN Galliano and Maison Margiela are continuing to prove they go together better than chocolate and peanut butter with their latest AW17 Collection.

Galliano pulled back the layers of fabric for this collection and focused on the pure interior and structure of garments. What first appear to be cutouts and technical details later reveal themselves as the bare bones of clothing layered over their fully formed counterparts.

Reminiscent of skeletal structures, although beautiful, the pieces had a distinct punk vibe. Through the colour scheme and heavy handed use of yarn and sheers – it was a memorable part of fashion history.
