Aqua Kyoto by Marios Schwab opens in London

This week saw the unveiling of the newly re-vamped rooftop terrace at Argyll Street venue Aqua Kyoto, designed in collaboration with Marios Schwab.

One of the most stylish rooftop spots in the city, the new decor uses prints plucked from the Schwab’s SS15 collection – the Herculean motifs are a nod to his Greek heritage – alongside captivating lighting that nods to his fabled technical ability, and origami-influenced furnishings that sit in-line with the space’s Japanese feel.

On the collaboration, Marios told us: “Personally, I love the risk of creating something and making it successful. This is what a creator should do, constantly challenge him or herself to create something people want to observe. I enjoy applying elements of my world into a given space.”

To accompany the brand new terrace, Aqua London’s Bar Manager Luca Missaglia has worked closely with Marios to create a specialist drinks menu using Cîroc vodka. An absolute must is the Smoky Fig – an warming infusion of sultry Crème de Fig and smoky Mezcal – that’s as addictive as it is intriguing.

During the day, the terrace will provides a sun-soaked haven in which to escape the hustle and bustle of Central London, and an ideal environment for a relaxed, outdoor lunch. As the sun sets in the evening, the rooftop space transforms into a sultry environment that’s perfect for enjoying a selection of expertly-made cocktails, with spectacular views of the city below.
