Artist Coco Capitán collaborates with Charles & Keith on capsule

RENOWNED for her poems and art pieces that weave narration together, Spanish artist Coco Capitán has found a new canvas on the accessories from Charles & Keith. Collaborating with the global brand, the collection explores emotions that fashion hopes to evoke while celebrating the purpose of fashion – individuality.

Keeping an androgynous feel to the items, the understated contemporary aesthetic of Charles & Keith acts as a great base for Capitán’s unique flare as she takes over the brand’s san-serif logo and reimagines it in her signature handwriting.

Taking inspiration from the innocence that stems from childhood games, ‘He loves me, he loves me not’ sees blue daisies embroidered into the side of the Perline Penny Loafers alongside the artist’s own rendition swapping the word love for blue. Her synonymous scripture writing is further translated across the Double Handle Sculptural Tote as blue flowers continue to bloom on the bag and a hopeful tale is read on the accessory.

Speaking about the collection, Capitán says “My art is inspired by overheard conversations, diary entries, and sudden waves of introspection. I believe that words can transcend cultures and give us a glimmer of hope for brighter times”.

Praising the coming together of these two powerhouses in their respective fields, Freddie Stevens, Design Director of Charles & Keith explains, “Our team worked closely with Capitán to create this capsule collection that reflects her cool-girl attitude. These pieces, paired with poignant prose, are perfect collector’s items for art lovers and the fashion forward crowd”.
