BFC announces NEWGEN MEN recipients for AW15

The British Fashion Council have announced NEWGEN’s men’s recipients for AW15. A total of 10 emerging menswear talents are to receive NEWGEN MEN support, sponsored by leading UK menswear retailer TOPMAN to showcase their AW15 collections at London Collections: Men in January. Those recognised include the new ready-to-wear menswear brand Vidur, which will be joining existing NEWGEN MEN recipients: Agi & Sam, Alex Mullins, Astrid Andersen, CMMN SWDN, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale, Lee Roach and Nasir Mazhar.

Raj Mister and Richard Brand of the newcomer brand Vidur said, “We are excited about the future and look forward to making the most of the opportunities that being part of such an influential initiative will bring.” Showcasing opportunities, the focus of the NEWGEN initiative, will also come along with financial support and business mentoring for the victorious menswear recipients, with the hope of the BFC being able to build businesses on a commercial level and nurture relationships with all-important key press and buyers.

So far the NEWGEN MEN scheme has been instrumental in the prolific rise of designers including Christopher Shannon, J.W. Anderson, James Long and Sibling and is currently headed by a committee that includes Esquire’s Catherine Hayward, the Financial Times’ Charlie Porter and Mr Porter’s Sam Lobban among many others.

LC:M will be held in January 2015 and has recently been increased to a four-day schedule.
