Bottega Veneta debuts first campaign by Matthieu Blazy

THE ITALIAN fashion house had us all on the edge of our seats following the unexpected exit of much beloved designer Daniel Lee last year, and appointment of Matthieu Blazy as creative director. Bottega Veneta, which has been met with wide spread popularity over recent years, appeared to hang in the balance as many feared its aesthetic could be tarnished, but there’s no denying Blazy’s triumphant debut, a success which has certainly been continued with his very first campaign.

Effortlessly tiptoeing the line between minimalism and maximalism, Blazy’s new, new Bottega presents a visual storyboard which exudes a carefree, sensual attitude. We are given a taste of what is to come while still met with enough mystery to keep us intrigued for what is to come next.

One certain success for the imagery – dominantly shot on film –  is its dialogue, which gives a glimpse of of Blazy’s playful designs, all while solidifying the artisanal excellence the house is known for, perfectly preempting what is to come for his time at the helm of Bottega.
