Breaking Glass: Bird

Breaking Glass: Liverpool’s Bird

Nature-themed Bird are a four piece bunch of boys and girls harking from that rich bubbling main-vein of song, the Mersey. Boasting stark guitars and church-hall vocals reminiscent of Warpaint, underscored with an propulsive, uneasy beat, breakout single The Rain Song builds something akin to having scores of harmonious waves lap relentlessly over you, beating you into cacophonous submission, yet still offering you an elegiac safety net. It’s impressively poised and quite brilliant.

With a debut album My Fear and Me to be released in May and with a string of credible supports with Wild Beasts and Stealing Sheep behind them, Bird are sure to nest into all our consciousnesses in 2014.

Bird are: Adele Emmas, Sian Williams, Alexis Samata and Christian Sandford
