Cartier Women’s Initiative opens applications for their 2021 Edition


CARTIER has been in partnership with one of the world’s leading business schools INSEAD since 2006. This joint venture called the Cartier Women’s Initiative, was started together with the aim to empower female entrepreneurs by putting these women on a platform and equipping them with the financial, social and human capital support to help them and their businesses.

Cartier Women’s Initiative Finalists Edition 2019

This annual programme is open to women-run and women-owned businesses from any country and any field of business that aims to have both a strong and sustainable social and environmental impact. Since the start of the Carter Women’s Initiative, the programme has helped 240 female entrepreneurs from 56 countries and awarded an accumulative $3 million towards these businesses.

In 2021, the programme is introducing an expansion from their seven regional awards, an extra three women will be recognised. This initiative has also now launched the Science & Technology Pioneer Award, a category to support females in STEM innovation.

The prizes of the eight laureates will be a grant of $100,000 each, second and third place will be gifted $30,000. The eight laureates and 16 finalists will all receive mentoring in strategic financial thinking, 1-1 mentoring, media visibility and international networking opportunities to help their businesses. Lastly, the winners will be given the opportunity to join INSEAD’s executive education programme. The application closes on July 31 2020.
