SEEMS like Pharrell Williams has found his new passion, after successfully establishing his name in the music industry, the Happy-singer once again joins forces with long-time friend Karl Lagerfeld. In collaboration with the luxury fashion house Chanel, Pharrell Williams will release a ss19 Ready-to-Wear and Accessories capsule collection in 2019.
Pharrell Williams in Bangkok
Pharrell delved into the world of fashion before when composing the soundtrack for and starring alongside the likes of Cara Delevingne in Chanel’s 2014 short film Reincarnation, followed by being the face of numerous Chanel campaigns to walking the runway and most recently customising a pair of Adidas sneakers for the French maison. Now he can officially add designer to his resumé as he makes the transition from high-street to high fashion.
The news was revealed during Chanel’s Cruise 2018 replica show in Bangkok, where the music maestro was dressed in a yellow hoodie, adorned with the iconic sparkling interlocked C’s and Coco Pharrell – which does have a nice ring to it – teasing one of the designs from the capsule collection.
Details are yet to be released, but the capsule collection will debut exclusively on March 29 in Seoul, simultaneously celebrating the inception of the new Chanel flagship boutique. From April 4, 2019 the collection will be available worldwide in selected Chanel boutiques.
