Cheers to JW Anderson and Guinness’ Second Capsule Collection

WITH Saint Patrick’s Day mere days away, a wave of well-dressed pub-goers ready to raise a toast to Irish cheer is about to sweep over city streets and quaint countryside taverns.

With this in mind, JW Anderson‘s latest launch with the storied stout comes not a moment too soon, combining chunky knits with captivating vintage graphics all against the charming backdrop of a quintessential Irish pub.

Joe Alwyn for JW Anderson x Guinness

Building on the acclaim of their inaugural 2024 collaboration, Guinness and JW Anderson have released 17 new pieces, each drawing from the deep-seated heritage and sense of homeliness that lies at the heart of the traditional pub. Once again, Guinness’ brand iconography is the star of the show. Its classical harp and a personified pint are printed across denim workwear, unisex cotton shirts and crewneck hand-knitted Irish jumpers.

Elsewhere, a poem first issued across a 1938 advertisement is taken from the archives and embroidered across a shirt, whilst JW Anderson’s distinctive twisted denim jeans derive design inspiration from Guinness’ utilitarian vintage brewery uniforms.

Features pulled from a pub’s interior and the diffusion of colour that characterises a perfect pint inform bespoke towelling fabrication and gradient yarn intarsias, each capturing the rich visual and sensorial language for which Guinness is known and re-contextualising it through contemporary, painstakingly crafted clothing.

Joe Alwyn and Little Simz embody the collection’s unique spirit in the new campaign, which not only champions Irish culture, craft and creativity but invites consumers and cheerful pub-goers alike to ‘experience the rich legacy of Guinness through JW Anderson’s unparalleled design vision.’ We’ll toast to that.
