Chef Kosei Sakamoto delivers fuss-free sushi at Miyako, London

LOCATED within the walls of 5-star Andaz Hotel by Hyatt on Liverpool Street is Miyako, a reliable Japanese restaurant spearheaded by Head Chef Kosei Sakamoto.

With 20 years of service under his belt, the dining experience is formulated to bring his history of fine-dining to the heart of the city with a menu that balances tradition with London’s fast-paced culture – with dine in, delivery and takeaway options.

Interior of Miyako

The intimate layout is centred around the open kitchen giving diners an opportunity to see Sakamoto and his team work. With a menu that allows both lunch and dinner options, from £25 Business Lunches to get a bento box, to a more casual nighttime meal with a large array of Japanese wines and saka pairings, there is a spot at the table for every type of diner.

Miyako Vegetarian Selection

Fail-safe starters include Edamame beans and Wakadori Karaage Chicken, to Sesame-dressed Tenderstem Broccoli, but the star of the show is the sharing selection of sushi. From Spicy Tuna Maki and California versions, to more classic Salmon & Avocado bites – the selection is will make choosing a difficult decision.

Miyako Sanshyouku Roll

Miyako Sashimi Platter

Miyako’s signature rolls are not to be missed, from Soft Shell Crab selections and Tuna Tataki with Truffle Oil, to 15 piece sashimi to give you that immediate dose of fresh fish – we recommend trying the Sea Bream and Hamachi Yellowtail.

Beyond the menu, the restaurant also offers a Sushi Masterclass allowing you into the secrets of sushi-making and teaching you the techniques of seven different types, all taught by Sakamoto.
