Daniel Fletcher’s debut capsule for Mithridate has launched

LAUNCHING today, Daniel Fletcher‘s debut capsule for Mithridate, titled Seven, Nine, Three, is available to purchase. Having unveiled the new chapter of the brand earlier this year during London Fashion Week, he presented his vision for the brand – one that combined his synonymous link to British heritage with a focus on Chinese craftsmanship.

Now the first iteration of the new look is a 30-piece collection that hones in on the very core parts of your wardrobe. Releasing buildable pieces that can be layered or proudly worn on their own, he brings classic heirlooms into the present day like rugby-style shorts, knitted polos and stripped school-boy shirts.

Brought to life by model turned muse, Alexa Chung, the designer’s vision was informed by his conversations with her. “Alexa was the first person to try these clothes on, I’d only been working for the brand two months and these were the first samples so it was interesting for me to see how Alexa put them together and what she was drawn to,” explained Fletcher.

“We talked about the staples you find in a British wardrobe, and how those items like a navy crew neck jumper, a striped cotton oxford shirt, a double breasted blazer; these are things so many of us have some form of variation on and are what build the foundation of most of our outfits every day. This was the starting point for me, to establish the foundation of what is in the Mithridate wardrobe then start building on it. This capsule is a reflection of that vision and for what I see for the future of the brand.”

Drawing from the Chinese art of Feng Shui, the numbers chosen to title this capsule and also weave into the pieces are significant as they reflect the hopes for the future of the brand. Seven reflects change – apt with the introduction of a new designer; nine represents accomplishments; and three symbolises upward growth. Together these figures see a bright future for Fletcher’s tenure and so do we.
