Dior unveils new CD 1947 saddle bag

A REFERENTIAL piece of the 1947 CD capsule collection that the French Maison Dior released is the latest iteration of the much beloved leather accessory, the Saddle Bag –  reimagined by Kim Jones and inspired by an expert infusion of history and modernity.

The revival of the saddle bag has seen an impressive trajectory in recent years. Once the resort of the early 2000s it-girls, the re-launch of the bag towards the end of the 2010s was met with great reception, and has since become an icon of modern streetwear following the appointment of the British designer as artistic director in 2018.

Ever-learning to reinvent the classic, Jones’ latest vision sees the bag designed in a grained leather in Dior Gray, the favourite colour of the founding couturier, Monsieur Christian Dior. The piece, surely to be a hit with both new customers and collectors alike is embroidered with a virtuoso logo, alongside the year of the very first Dior fashion show, 1947.
