Diptyque and Café Verlet collab on an exclusive gourmet candle collection

THE LEADING fragrance company Diptyque has just announced their latest collaboration with Café Verlet, celebrating the French style of life.

Established in 1880, Café Verlet is one of Paris’ oldest cafes, offering its guests over thirty pure-origin coffees and an assortment of teas from around the globe. A visit to Café Verlet proposes an unforgettable experience with its luxurious interiors reminiscent of 1920s décor.

Diptyque Biscuit

The collection sees four new fragranced candles inspired by the sweet desserts served at Café Verlet and celebrates the encounter of two imaginations and two undeniable soulmates.

Together, Diptyque and Café Verlet share a commonality in their love for the finer things in life, such as authenticity, excellence and travel. The two titans come together in this collaboration to create a sensory experience unlike any other.

Diptyque Café

The scents that make up the collection are Café, Chantilly, Biscuit, Fruits confits, and all take inspiration from Café Verlet’s menu.

The fragrance Cafe (£59) exudes notes of roasted coffee beans and toasted cereals, taking one on an olfactory journey to the cosy atmosphere of Café Verlet. Chantilly (£59) offers aromas of vanilla reminiscent of whipped cream and emits an overall smooth and airy opulence, while Biscuit (£59) introduces Verlet’s gâteaux de voyage to patchouli notes.

Diptyque Chantilly

Finalising the collection is Fruits Confits, (£59) which is exclusively available in Diptyque boutiques and releases sweet smells of plum with accents of sandalwood, patchouli, and balsam. All four scents offer an aromatic experience of sweet, soft sophistication.

The charming candle packaging is dreamt up and artfully drawn by the British illustrator Clym Evernden. The drawings depict a fantastic tale where the atmosphere of Café Verlet reverberates the ambience of Diptyque’s original Parisian boutique. A sense of British humour and the trace of poetry brings forth both the collection’s character and the artist’s drawings.

The Diptyque x Café Verlet collaboration is sweet, elegant and entirely Parisian as it takes its audience on an olfactory journey to a French café through a sensory expedition by the renowned pioneer of fragrance, Diptyque.
