Givenchy unveils AW19 campaign starring Ariana Grande

STRIKING portraits of Ariana Grande draped in Givenchy unveil her debut campaign for the house’s AW19 collection.

Taken by Craig McDean, the portraits are in the traditional style that Hubert de Givenchy called “the Givenchy sitting”. In them, Grande embodies the houses signature spirit – an elegant attitude informed by beauty, individuality and a sense of empowerment.

Key looks include a pleated, floral dress, a tailored suit in lustrous jade and a dramatic off-the-shoulder evening look in black with a delicately embroidered design.

One shot sees Grande posing with this autumn’s statement bag, the Eden, which evokes feelings of temptation and desire with bold graphics, sinuous lines and silken finishes. Functionality and form make this bag a feat of leather working – a statement bag for a thoroughly modern icon.

Grande says she is proud to be the new face of Givenchy as “it is a house I have forever admired and to now be part of that family is such an honour. Not only is the clothing timeless and beautiful but I’m proud to work with a brand that makes people feel celebrated for who they are, and unapologetic about whatever they want to be.”

To use the words of Ariana Grande’s song 7 Rings; she saw it, she liked it, she wanted it, she got it.
