THE RECENTLY opened Fairmont Windsor Park hotel is an imposing country pile, approached by a long drive cutting through the property’s vast manicured grounds. This sprawling mansion comprises of over 200 rooms and suites across varying categories. Each one is furnished in neutral shades and feature blissfully deep beds, tasteful floral wallpaper and state-of-the-art technology. Our marble bathroom is well stocked with Le Labo products for use in our walk-in shower and sunken bathtub.

Located moments away from Windsor Great Park and 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport, the hotel offers an approach to wellness inspired by nature. Treatments combine relaxation with innovation, setting the bar high for those seeking a hotel and health retreat under one roof.

The spa spans 2,500m² spread over two floors, with facilities including a gym, Pilates studio, 20m indoor pool, Himalayan salt room, and a thermal suite encompassing a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and heated tepidarium bench. There’s also a unique multi-person Cryotherapy Chamber. The Facebible offers aesthetic treatments and consultations with a resident GP in addition to a hair salon, Truefitt & Hill barbers’ shop, and Greens Café featuring a healthy-eating menu.

Inside one of the spa’s many treatment rooms, my husband has a 55-minute facial and neck massage, giving much-need hydration to his skin with the aid of a multitude of masks, oils, and mists – resulting in a visibly rejuvenated and calmed complexion.

Six other restaurants and bars include Orchid Tea Room, where champagne accompanied afternoon tea is served either inside or al fresco on the patio, and Moreish which serves Middle Eastern sharing plates and home to the buffet and a la carte breakfast.

We feel fortunate to have discovered this new Berkshire bolthole.
